On Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the Macy’s in Brea, California I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the “A Shopping Party for The Curvy Woman,” featuring the PLUS Model Magazine Fashion Editor and Stylist Reah Norman.
The event was held on the 3rd floor of Macy’s. As you stepped onto the escalator to head toward the 3rd floor, the music had you tapping your feet and bobing your head. As we arrived to the top floor, we were right in the center of one of the largest plus size fashion sections that I’ve seen at a Macy’s. Full of designer options such as Calvin Klein, Vince Camuto, Jessica Simpson and so much more. It was a curvy girls heaven in Macy’s.
The music was playing, models were standing on display blocks showing us the latest fashions and trends, as servers passed sweet treats such of mini smore’s and mini rice cripsy treats lightly dipped in chocolate. I couldn’t resist but to try some.
Reah Norman, was such a sweetheart and made sure that all the ladies were having a good time shopping, answered all of our questions and even helped us make those perfect purchases by assisting us with looks while trying on the clothes. What’s more perfect than having a fabulous stylist showing you how to put together looks for the season and make those important simple purchases such as the perfect blazer or pencil skirt.
All the ladies in attendance were all so supportive of each other and encouraging. It was definitely one of the best shopping experiences that I’ve had and I’m looking forward to more events like this in the future.
We also received a special gift for trying on clothes and since Macy’s was having a great sale, you even received free gifts at the time of purchase. Who doesn’t love free stuff?
After trying on an array of options, I went home with a Calvin Klein Faux Leather Skater Skirt, I.N.C. Black and White Faux Leather Jacket and Charter Club Sweater with a Fur trim collar. You’ll be seeing my selections in some upcoming posts.
Have you attended events like this in your area? Do you want to see more of these types of events?
