As you can tell by a lot of my posts, I’m a jeans girl. I love jeans simply because of their versatility. I can wear a cute pair of flats with skinnies during the day and at night switch the shoes for a pair of pointy toe heels and a cute blouse, voila! A completely different look.
In this look I opted for a pair of straight leg jeans with combat boots which could have easily been switched out at night with a pair of black booties or even brown to match the moto jacket. I, added a brown tee, scarf and cute earrings from Wild Heart Bliss to complete my look. My hair was the statement in this look. I love being a naturalista. It took a while for me to fully embrace every aspect of my hair, but I’ve learned to love everything about being natural. My hair is so healthy, in need of a trim but healthy nonetheless.
Style just doesn’t make a statement with clothing but with hair and makeup. Style is the expression of one’s self and hair makes a huge statement for women especially when it comes to completing your look.
When I was relaxing my hair, I always kept it simple. Relaxer, Flat Iron, Wrap… I never deviated from my routine and it wasn’t until I went natural that I thought about it and realized that I didn’t want to be different. I wanted to fit in, be apart of the team.
The day I did the “Big Chop” changed that part of me because I no longer had my hair to hide behind. As I look back over my journey, it’s been filled with ups and downs. Dealing with a texture that I knew nothing about, spending lots of money on products trying to find that perfect one made just for me and detangling taking forever as my hair started to grow. Now, I see this head full of coily curly hair that I absolutely love and all I think is that it was worth every moment on this journey to get where I am today and I can’t wait to see what the next 3 years has in-store.
Do you agree? Is hair a big part of your style?
